Daisy Back Home in Pohnpei

November 2003

While the Canvasback eye team was in Pohnpei in November, Daisy Kalia's parents brought her to the hospital for a visit. After three surgeries and nearly four months in Honolulu, Daisy and her father Lensper were thrilled to be back home with her mother and nine siblings.

Daisy proudly told Jacque Spence that she had walked to school that day.  All Jacque had to say was "Daisy, will you walk for me?" and she took off like a wind-up toy, walking back and forth, back and forth! All of the local doctors and nurses were saying "We can't believe she can walk!"

Daisy came to visit Jacque at the Pohnpei Hospital along
with her parents and baby sister. How she loves to walk!
